Fortune 500 company Mutual of Omaha has been one the most trusted names in finance for more than 100 years in the United States. Robert M. Wicklander and Chad Larkowski both work as Branch Managers in the Mortgage division of the company. Wicklander, located in Chicago, has enjoyed working in the financial services and mortgage industry since 2006. Larkowski, a 14-year veteran of the banking and mortgage industry, is in Dallas, Texas.

Challenge

The two Mutual of Omaha Mortgage teams were experiencing a lack of bandwidth and tools to advertise their open opportunities.

“It’s extremely time consuming to run a branch, manage and coach a team while dedicating the time it truly requires to properly and effectively recruit,” says Wicklander. So, when Talent.com’s Ariel Biag, Business Development Manager for US Sales, connected with the company in July 2020, they were thrilled to accept the much-needed assistance.

Solution

Out of the many successful campaigns Talent.com ran for the Mortgage side of Mutual of Omaha, the two campaigns in Chicago and Dallas have proven to be particularly fruitful partnerships.

First thing's first, the Talent.com team worked to understand the client’s recruitment goals and the criteria of the talent prospects desired. Similar strategies were employed for both Chicago and Dallas to get the jobs out in front of the candidates and the resumes flowing in with the least amount of effort on the client’s part.

"We geo-expanded the job openings in multiple cities in and around Dallas and Chicago,” says Biag. “We also created multiple job postings with variations of the job titles specific to experienced Loan Officer positions to attract quality candidates,” he adds. During the first three months working with Larkowski in early 2021, the Talent.com account manager vetted more than 200 resumes and relayed only the best.

Results

“Since working with Talent we have hired three new employees and have received over 100 resumes in a short period of time,” says Larkowski. “We are all sales, so each new hire directly impacts our productivity and revenue.”

Wicklander in Chicago is happy with his six new hires thanks to the consistent number of quality candidates Talent.com has sent his way.
